We'll be boldly covering flying cars, hoverboards, jetpacks and spaceships with plenty of down to earth topics in between. Welcome to FOS Future Lab where we report on the latest visions of future technology. Do you agree, disagree? Is there anything we missed? Let us know. It’s incredible how many people got started in sim racing in the last few years, especially after the 2020 lockdown. So those are our sim racer picks for 2023. It’s no secret that sim racing has now become a fantastic way to practice real life racing techniques for professional drivers as well as for the fun of competing with dozens of different people in online races. Not relevant now but definitely worth keeping on the radar. We don't know anything about it, only that the devs are reasonably aware of fan expectations for the game, as a follow-up to what came before. It's officially on the way, albeit for a release no earlier than 2024 by our rough estimations. It's a long way out – years perhaps – but the first signs of life in terms of a sequel to the beloved Kunoz-developed sim racer are there. Forza promises more of the same, when it eventually arrives. GT promised and delivered stunning graphics, an engrossing career, good physics and GT nostalgia and has received superb DLC, patches and updates over the last year. More to the point, there are brand spanking new entries in both of these franchises – one out for a year now in the excellent Gran Turismo 7 and one coming soon in the Forza reboot. Everyone started out on one of them, at least in the last decade, so cut ‘em some slack. Alongside Gran Turismo, it's the AAA entry point into a world that gets ever-more niche the deeper you go. No longer will it be just a place in a competitive world championship, but for a chance to make sim racing a true career.Īpex Racing Academy will be training 6 drivers, giving them the maximum support and every resource they need in order to reach the goal of becoming a professional esports athlete.Īn Academy subscription is not required, this is a development team, no strings, you will have access to all the tools and opportunities you need to help you improve as part of this exciting team.Though the seasoned sim racers will scoff, the Forza Motorsport franchise has their place. The students are now masters and will once again be looking to train the next generation of sim racers. The Academy was the number one place to join if you wanted to work with the best coaches and showcase your talents to the biggest sim racing teams. At its high, we were actively training 16 of the iRacing Road Pro Series grid. Without a doubt, the Apex Racing Academy Team has been the most successful development team to compete on the iRacing platform.
